About Scott
Scott Duncan has been dedicated to artistic expression since childhood, drawing inspiration early on from his grandfather, a Royal Marines veteran whose tattoos first sparked Scott’s interest in the craft.
He began tattooing in 1994 after leaving the Ontario College of Art to pursue an apprenticeship. Over the next four years, Scott worked in downtown Toronto, where he gained hands-on experience and learned from some of Canada’s leading tattooers. During that time, he also attended his first international tattoo conventions, including a pivotal visit to the Berlin Tattoo Convention in 1998.
On Valentine’s Day 1999, Scott opened Sugar Shack Tattoo in a single room behind a barbershop in Kincardine, Ontario. By 2002, the shop moved into its own dedicated space—where it still operates today. Throughout his career, Scott has traveled extensively to conventions across Europe and the U.S., always seeking to refine his craft and stay connected to the broader tattoo community.
With over 30 years of tattooing experience—26 of them in Kincardine—Scott remains passionate, driven, and grateful to be part of this art form. He takes pride in working closely with clients to create custom designs that suit the body, tell a story, and elevate the wearer.
Scott is known for his versatility and adaptability. His preferred styles include traditional Japanese and American tattooing, black and grey realism, portraits, and illustrative pieces that blend elements of multiple genres.
Whether you’re looking for something bold, timeless, or highly personalized, Scott brings decades of experience and artistic integrity to every piece he creates.

"Scott just did artwork on my girlfriend and I and the conversations leading up to the work were amazing. He could feel out what we were looking for and offered new approaches which complemented our personalities. The conversations during the work also could not have been better and the final artwork exceeded our expectations."
