All clients must be 18 years of age or older. No exceptions. We are happy to book a tattoo on someone's 18th birthday (if it's on a weekday, or the closest weekday after). Kindly give us as much notice as possible to ensure you can be booked with your preferred artist.

Waivers must be signed before every appointment. For insurance reasons, liability and release waivers must be signed before every appointment (even if you've already signed a waiver before with the same artist for the same tattoo).
-
Deposits are non-refundable and are voided upon last-minute cancellations.Your deposit holds your appointment in our books and is applied at check-out. In the case of multiple sessions, your deposit will be applied to the final appointment. Last minute cancellations impede our artists' abilities to provide for themselves and their families. A cancellation within 48 hours of your appointment will void your deposit, and a new deposit must be given to secure your next appointment.

We reserve the right to refuse tattoo designs we deem offensive. At Sugar Shack we are committed to creating a respectful and inclusive environment for all of our clients and staff. We do not tattoo offensive designs because they can perpetuate harmful stereotypes, promote hate, or offend individuals based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, or other protected characteristics. Our mission is to use our art to foster positivity and unity within the community, and we firmly believe that tattooing offensive imagery contradicts these values. By upholding this standard, we ensure that our work contributes to a welcoming and respectful atmosphere for everyone who walks through our doors.

What does getting a tattoo feel like? The sensation of getting a tattoo can vary depending on individual pain tolerance and the location of the tattoo on the body. Generally, the experience can be described as a continuous, sharp scratching. Some clients also liken it to a hot or stinging sensation. Areas with thinner skin or closer to bones typically feel more intense, whereas fleshier parts with more muscle may feel more tolerable. Our skilled artists strive to create the most comfortable environment possible, using modern techniques and equipment to minimize discomfort. We also encourage open communication throughout the process, so if you need a break or have any concerns, don't hesitate to let us know. Your comfort and satisfaction with the final result are our top priorities at Sugar Shack.

What should I do the day before my tattoo?Ensure you arrive at your appointment well rested, hydrated, and having eaten something. For more detailed instructions, view the section below labelled Beforecare.

What should I do during my tattoo? Many of our clients like to chat with their artist during their tattoo, while others will listen to music or a podcast, or (if the position on the table allows it) watch a movie on their phone. Some even fall asleep! Feel free to bring a blanket if you tend to get chilly, and absolutely bring snacks. It's important to feed your body during a tattoo. There will be moments when the process of tattooing is painful, and it is important to take long deep breaths to help you through it. If ever you need a break, do not hesitate at all to ask for one - our artists do not mind taking a moment to stretch their legs and to give you a moment to re-center.
